GramTel Offers G-Vault, Its Proprietary Methodology for Data Backup
South Bend, Ind. – Keeping business-critical information secure in an off-site data center is essential to today’s businesses. GramTel’s proprietary methodology takes that security to a new level with G-Vault, its electronic vaulting data backup technology.
With G-Vault, backup is compressed, encrypted and sent directly to a GramTel recovery center, using a tapeless format. If a tape becomes necessary, however, it can be provided. Unlike most tape-based systems that have once-a-night backup, G-Vault can back up everything in real time and can easily restore up to the minute of the server failure.
Additional benefits include ease and speed of recovery, speed of transmission and continuous data protection. GramTel data centers are located in low-risk secondary markets, free from many of the threats that other parts of the country face, and use encryption technology that can safely move data without using a lot of network bandwidth.
“G-Vault replaces the hardware, software and tapes associated with most backup systems and compresses data at approximately a 50 percent rate. That reduces our clients’ overall storage costs. It’s also less resource intensive than alternative methods that may include client-site staff. Those benefits, plus our ability to meet many different external auditing standards make this service very attractive,” said Tracy Graham, GramTel President and CEO.
Specially trained business continuity consultants assess businesses’ current data backup systems, and develop and deploy end-to-end solutions tailored to each unique data retention requirement.
